Hair Colours We Expect To Trend In Spring 2023
- Trends
With spring finally here, you may just be thinking it’s time to switch up your look for the warmer (hopefully🥶) seasons ahead. Are we right? Of course, we are. Our next guess is that you are still deciding on THE look so, we are here to help you with four hair colours we expect to be trending in Spring 2023…
Butterscotch Blonde
There’s been “Expensive Blonde”, “Tweed Blonde”, “Icy Blonde” and now we think next on the list of hair trends for spring is “Butterscotch Blonde”.
As described in Glamour magazine as the colour that will be “taking the cake” Madison Reed master colourist Shvonne Perkins tells the magazine “Deep blonde will be trending this season… this rich, balanced colour allows for a beautiful golden depth”.
You can see it for yourself in action with the stunning look from @hairbycharlottex_x giving you THE ultimate inspiration using T8-16/60…
Warm Golden Highlights
On the list of Cosmopolitan's "33 Best Spring Hair Colour Trends And Ideas For 2023” is “Caramel-drizzle” or what we like to call “Warm Golden Highlights” (a way that doesn't make us hungry for cake or craving a coffee…).
The look is described by celebrity hairstylist Scott King as “the go-to spring colours for my clients every year, without fail”. He further explains the look as “a lived-in, low-maintenance balayage with lighter pieces on the ends…”
Our answer if you want this look? Colour T2-6/22 which is beautifully demonstrated by @krystalizedhair.
Cherry Cola
Are you brunette and want to switch up your look? If so, keep reading because following the lead of celebrity hairstylist Glenn Ellis, we think “Cherry Cola” could be a great contender for you specifically for your next look.
Further explaining to Pure Wow, Glenn says “many brunettes want a change in tonality without lightening up their hair. By going a bit darker, or just adding a redder tone into the hair, it really adds a pop and change to the colour”.
It’s not just Glenn predicting this to be huge, master colour technician Carolyn Mila Shariff tells The Kit it’s already back… “Deep burgundy tones have been spotted on the likes of Shay Mitchell, Tessa Thompson and Lourdes Leon”. So is this one we are going to see more and more of this season? We think so!

Chocolate Brunette
Calling all brunettes…again, spring is clearly the month of opportunities to have a trending look. This time, it’s “Chocolate” that’s on the cards to be another look that’s a must-have for the season.
Leading stylist, trend forecaster and Evo Hair creative director Tom Smith has this gorgeous rich shade on his list for the six hair colour trends he thinks will be major this spring. Describing the colour to Stylist as a “subtle, multi-tonal brunette shade, oozing with richness and shine, melted chocolate hair is characterised by its warmth…” Plus, this look is also on Allure’s list for the colours they expect to trend in the season they believe is all about “warmth”. So gorgeous! One of the colours that can be used to create this has to be colour 4 with @belladolls_hairextensions showing this colour off beautifully…
